This term, Do Re Music is once again offering students the opportunity to play in a band and learn what it’s like to make music together. There are two options for these band coaching sessions:

Join as an individual

If you would like to play in a band but don’t have any bandmates yet, you can join our five-month course. During the course, you’ll play in a band and develop your ensemble playing skills, as well as musical skills such as rhythm and dynamics. The course will start in September 2026, subject to the following conditions:

  • Lessons on Wednesday evenings or Friday afternoons, or at another mutually agreed time if there are enough participants.
  • Period: September through December 2026
  • One hour of lessons per week
  • Closing concert to wrap up the workshop
  • A minimum of 6 students per band
  • 11 lessons and a final performance on a Saturday for XCG 320 (XCG 80 per month)
  • The course is only available to students who also take instrument lessons (guitar, piano, keyboard, drums, singing or bass guitar) at Do Re Music
A certain level of playing proficiency is required to join a band. In consultation with the teacher, we will determine which band is the best fit for you.

See here how other students have experienced a band rehearsal, and here what it looks like on stage.

Existing Bands

If you already have a band but would like some tips and feedback on aspects such as playing together and stage performance, we can help. A regular weekly time slot will be arranged in consultation, after which you and your band will rehearse in the practice room with your band coach.
